As a teenager Gaby Gross just liked to look at pictures.  That was the beginning of a lifelong interest in photography.  Starting with a black and white lab in his parent’s kitchen and a box camera Gaby developed an “eye”.  He did have a two or three month class with a photographer friend in Jerusalem but aside from that he has been self-taught.  In the real world he worked in government and was resource director for several companies in Israel.  A six year stay as a contract manager for an Israeli-British firm in Nigeria gave his photography endeavors another turn.  He developed a passionate interest in faces. Travel became a vehicle to study portraiture.  He was especially attracted to third world countries where he often obtained candid shots of people without their awareness.

Gaby came to the U.S. in 1986 with his wife and two of his children (one still lives in Israel). After living in Los Angeles, he moved to the Coachella Valley.  Since he has always been curious, he looked to a camera club to provide him with new experiences and knowledge.  He has been a member of the Coachella Valley Camera Club for 2 years.
