Digital imaging changed things for Bob Dowling.  Though he had been a photographer since his college days, he didn’t really get serious about photography until digital cameras became available.  He acquired a 35mm digital camera (prior to that he used medium format cameras) and has taken many photography classes.  Among his favorites are the Santa Fe workshops where he has developed many friends.  Now Bob is using a Nikon D300 camera.

His interests in photography are varied.  He especially likes portraiture.  He finds that most people are flattered when he asks to take their picture and often just walks up and asks permission.   Bob is also interested in landscape and wildlife.  Since he spends summers in Wyoming living at the edge of the Shoshone National Forest and close to Yellowstone, he is certainly ideally situated.

In his “former life” Bob was an Ob-Gyn physician.  He lived in Fort Worth, Texas where he practiced for many years.  In 2000 after retirement he made his vacation home in Wyoming his residence and found a winter home in the Coachella Valley.  He is enjoying the stimulation and experience of our club.
